Many times we think we found the will of God, not knowing we just found our own desire and not His will. His will is deep inside, only the dead (to the flesh-their will, pleasure and desire) find it.
“Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.” Proverbs 20:5.
There’s a great peace that attends your soul when you’ve found or when you’re found in the will of God that doesn’t exist in the natural world of materials.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Isaiah 26:3.
The first layer of forces a man battle with while in the place of searching or prayers are his own desires flashing over his face. If he can search or pray deeper, he finds the will of God, the gold of heaven.
“You will seek me and find me when you SEARCH for me with all of your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13.
Even Samuel the accurate prophet whose words never fell to the ground FOUND Eliab first and would have ordained or made him King before God opened the eyes of his heart to see David, the sent one, the will of God. Why? Because, “Man looks on the outward appearance (what the eyes desire) but God looks at the heart (His eternal counsel)”, God told him.
Mistakes, misfiring and missed-targets abound innumerable in this age of pursuits of all that glitter than at any other time. Many things called the will of God or the voice of the Holy Spirit are at best “the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.”
I am young but the water of battle for significance has dried up in my soul owing to several encounters with heavens. I have seen Jesus our Lord. I have been to the very gates of heavens. Many of the fathers you see have left the will of God a long time ago and pursuing the significance of life in competition and comparison with others.
I used to think preaching around, ministering in big programs and planting churches around count you in as playing big in the scheme of heavens until I discovered that Faithfulness to His will alone makes you count.
“Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, after they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not… a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” Acts 16:6-9.
Why do you want to come out church? Why do you want to branch out of that church of God? Why do you want to start an independent ministry? To be called a General Overseer? To be accorded the honour of a founder or what? If yes, you will lose on earth and in heaven! God only rewards what He commands!
The things you’ve heard and seen around have a great influence over what your heart is established on. Many things people call the will of God are the things they heard over the television. When your body is totally submitted on God’s altar as a sacrifice and you’re renewed on moment by moment basis, you will see the difference very clearly.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2.
When you study the word of God profusely, not to become anything, but just to know God and His heartbeat, you will understand the will of God. The quest for success at all cost will put gleams on your eyes and give you spurious interpretations while studying the word.
The will of God does not turn you to an instant success, but it first grounds you in the faith our Lord Jesus Christ. It gives you peace that passes human understanding. I know you’ve found the will of God when I see the peace and stability you exhume even while every physical thing is crashing on you.
The will of God is simple for the simple-hearted but the many-sided complications of life have complicated many people’s lives.
“This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.” Ecclesiastes 7:29.
If you truly seek God to know His will, you will find Him!
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace in Jesus name. Amen.
Peace!
